We Take Your Health Seriously – Training Body and Mind Together – Safely

Training Safety

Our dojo facility uses state-of-the art, Swain Olympic Grade mats that are 1½ inches thick, making them the safest, densest, and most bacteria resistant in the world. We clean the mats and other training equipment with a mild, yet extremely effective, natural citrus disinfectant to prevent the risk of skin infections and are safety-checked regularly.

We also make sure that our students train safely as well. The dojo sells all the equipment that students will need, including karate gi (white uniform), helmets, gloves, leg protection, mouth guards, and cups for males. The dojo can special order any other martial art-related items as well. Just ask! Students who wish to take part in tournaments and classes using gear may order their own equipment if they so desire.

Our COVID protocols are:
1) All staff are vaccinated.

2) Masks will be worn by all persons inside the dojo for classes involving students that are not eligible age for a COVID vaccine. This means that regardless of vaccination status, everyone will wear a mask during the Little Dragon, Ninja, and Samurai classes. Masks will only be optional for vaccinated persons for the Teen/Adult class at this time. Important to note that this class is always the last class of the day.

3) Soap/Water and hand sanitizer is available at all times.

4) All students will arrive in a clean uniform and will not change in the dojo.

5) No person should come to the dojo if feeling unwell or having symptoms of sickness. This is true for all types of sickness and not just COVID. If a family member is feeling sick the students should also skip class that day. In the event of a fever, the student must be fever free for 24 hours or more and not exhibit any symptoms before returning to class.

6) The dojo will be well ventilated at all times. We have an exhaust fan that we can run and we can have the doors open if needed. The HVAC runs well and will be pulling in fresh air.

7) Training will still be barefoot as is traditional for our art.

8) The dojo will be cleaned every day after classes and frequent touch points will be cleaned as often as needed throughout each day. Any equipment used will be cleaned after use before being put away. Students and staff should help clean as is traditional in a karate dojo.

9) We reserve the right to limit class sizes and the amount of people in the dojo at all times.

10) If anyone in the dojo is exhibiting symptoms they will be separated from others and be sent home as soon as possible. This may include having to wait outside the dojo with a staff member for pickup.
